Time Lapse Video Surreal Journey Featuring My Music Scorpio

Here’s another awesome time lapse film featuring my music in the soundtrack. This excellent piece from photographer Ben Chase is called Surreal Journey and uses my licensed track Scorpio. Ben describes his work:

“From the late-night departures in inclement weather to the exploring of distant unmarked roads, my pursuit of photography is often a “Surreal Journey”. This was produced from footage and time-lapse frames taken in the Northwest Territories, Wyoming, Washington State, and Montana.”

Royalty Free Film & Documentary Music Vol. 1: Piano & Atmospheric Beds Released

Royal Free Music Vol.1 by Simon WilkinsonI’ve just released a new low-cost downloadable royalty free collection of music aimed at film and documentary makers.

Royalty Free Film & Documentary Music Vol. 1: Piano & Atmospheric Beds is a collection of specially composed dark piano and atmospheric ambient soundscapes ideal for film and documentary visuals that need a suitably dark and atmospheric musical background.

The album is 45 minutes long and can be bought from my download shop at the link below. Purchase of the mp3 album download grants the user a license to use the music in any film, documentary or other visual project without the need for any further payment. So once you’ve bought this, you can use it in as many of your film and documentary projects as you like, whether it’s for festivals, trailers, or broadcast.

The idea was to provide film and documentary makers with music that hopefully has more of an atmospheric or cinematic feel to it than stock library music but to keep it good quality at a reasonable price. Click the link below for full details and previews of all the tracks in my music download shop. I expect there’ll be more volumes to come in future. I’ve got some ideas for themes but I’ll wait and see what I can fit in around other projects.

High Altitude Ballooning By Michael Mönch

High Altitude Ballooning

Check out this cool high altitude ballooning video from Michael Mönch which uses a weather balloon and 2,000 litres of helium to film a journey up to the outer reaches of the earth’s atmosphere. When the balloon finally bursts due to the low pressure at over 30,000 metres high, a parachute brings the camera safely back to earth and is located via GPS.

My ambient space music track Coronal Mass Ejection is used in the video.

YMCA Video Featuring My Music

A great new video from Christopher King at www.endless-echo.com that features some of the music from my royalty free collections. The short film is an inspirational story about former pro boxer “terrifying” Tony Pollard and the help he received from the YMCA:

“Tony Pollard may have abandoned some of his healthy habits after quitting his pro boxing career 25 years ago, but he never forgot how to get back on his feet. He just needed the right place and the right support. The YMCA was all that.”

The music tracks featured are Spring Harvest, April Showers and  The Falling Snow from volumes 3 and 5 of my royalty free music collections:

Asche & Spencer: The Making Of Monster’s Ball Soundtrack

Making the Music for "Monster's Ball"

As promised in the previous post, here’s a great featurette showing how composer team Asche & Spencer created the beautiful and hypnotic music soundtrack to the film Monster’s Ball, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry.

The video shows how the team of composers worked to create a classic ambient and highly atmospheric score using guitar drones, piano and atmospheric soundscapes -- I love this soundtrack!
