Parallax Frequency Shift Featured On Free Ambient Compilation Album

Free Floating Music - ReflectionI’m very honoured to have one of my ambient space music tracks featured on the final compilation album release from the wonderful Free Floating Music netlabel.

The collection is titled Reflection and includes 18 tracks of calm and atmospheric instrumental music from artists including Altus, Bing Satellites and many more.

My contribution is the track Parallax Frequency Shift which is taken from my Perpetual Dimensions ambient space music album.

What’s even better is the album is a free download, in keeping with Free Floating Music‘s mission to distribute free and legal ambient music.

The album is released under a Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial NoDerivs license, meaning you’re welcome to download and share the album for free personal listening (so if you want to use the music in your own videos you’ll still need to seek permission from the artist but I’m always happy to discuss licensing if you want to contact me).

Royal Free Music Vol.1 by Simon WilkinsonI’ve just released a new low-cost downloadable royalty free collection of music aimed at film and documentary makers.

Royalty Free Film & Documentary Music Vol. 1: Piano & Atmospheric Beds is a collection of specially composed dark piano and atmospheric ambient soundscapes ideal for film and documentary visuals that need a suitably dark and atmospheric musical background.

The album is 45 minutes long and can be bought from my download shop at the link below. Purchase of the mp3 album download grants the user a license to use the music in any film, documentary or other visual project without the need for any further payment. So once you’ve bought this, you can use it in as many of your film and documentary projects as you like, whether it’s for festivals, trailers, or broadcast.

The idea was to provide film and documentary makers with music that hopefully has more of an atmospheric or cinematic feel to it than stock library music but to keep it good quality at a reasonable price. Here’s a slightly creepy and unusual video that I wouldn’t really have expected to hear my music in! Sex Dolls: Stoned Mode by the people over at the Super Deluxe YouTube channel is a short behind-the-scenes look at how sex dolls are made…

There’s no narration but my music track The Raven plays throughout giving a very unsettling and eerie atmosphere to what would probably otherwise be quite a lighthearted quirky video. If nothing else it goes to show how you can completely alter the feel of a video just by the use of music.

New Time Lapse Film Featuring My Music Wins 1st Prize!

A new time lapse short film from wildlife photographer Marsel van Oosten which features my music has won 1st prize at the Travel Photographer of the Year awards.

Namibian Nights is a short but beautiful piece (video entries in the competition were limited to a maximum length of one minute) and features my piano music track Leaving Paris. You can see more of Marsel’s beautiful photography work on his website www.squiver.com or on his Facebook page here.

Fox’s 24 Season 8 TV Promo Trailers Use My Music Again!

After being used last year in trailers for season 7 of Fox’s 24, my music is being used again in trailers for season 8! Check out the promo clip here for season 8/episode 19 of the hit show starring Kiefer Sutherland featuring my music.
