thebluemask.com Relaunches With An Overhaul!

thebluemask.com relaunches with a new design!Welcome to the redesigned, overhauled, trimmed down, leaner, meaner thebluemask.com!

The site has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and now features a cleaner design that’s less text-heavy, works better on mobile devices and tablets and brings a few new features.

I’ve also switched to a better hosting company so the site should now be faster and more stable overall!

One often requested feature is that you no longer need to add the mp3 and license to your cart when buying a license for a single track. Just select either a non-commercial or commercial license and you’ll now get both the music track and license together in your download for one inclusive price.

Here’s a list of a few of the improvements:

  • Cleaner and simpler site design
  • Navigation always visible at top of screen
  • License & music track now included together for one price
  • Re-order music & searches by popularity, alphabetical etc.
  • Change number of tracks displayed per page
  • Hosted on new private server for improved speed, stability and downloading
  • ‘Back to top’ link appears at bottom right for faster navigation on long screens
  • ‘Recently viewed’ tracks list

I’ve put the site through some rigorous testing but as with any major update it’s possible you might come across a glitch that needs ironing out. So if you have any problems or suggestions on what could make it even easier for you to use please let me know!

And to celebrate the relaunch, you can use the coupon code newlook20 to get 20% off all music, licenses and royalty free music collections for one week until Feb 11th 2015.

Bloodstorm

Bloodstorm by Simon Wilkinson

Explosive orchestral music track Bloodstorm by composer Simon Wilkinson. Dramatic and epic orchestral action music, ideal for film trailers, sports promos or scenes of fighting and battles.

Please note: the music comes in 3 versions which you’ll receive all 3 of when buying or licensing this track: a full length 2:36 mix, a 1 minute version and a 45 second version (hear the 3 versions above).

Starts off quietly with ominous high strings and slowly plucked harp, then erupts into a dramatic explosion of excitement featuring orchestral percussion, heavy drums, brass and strings before dropping to a piano coda then building one last time to a persistent intense and dramatic climax.

New Ambient Space Music Track: Birth Of A Distant Star

Ambient Space Music: Birth Of A Distant Star by Simon Wilkinson

Today I’ve released a new ambient space music track called Birth Of A Distant Star. The track is a 10 minute atmospheric instrumental ambient piece based around themes of star births, origins of the galaxy, space travel and epic interstellar imagery.

Full of atmospheric ambient textures and harmonically rich floating synth layers, the instrumental track would make ideal background music for space documentaries and feature films, astronomy time lapse films, art films, photo galleries or any video that calls for ethereal and highly textural audio, music and sound design.

The track is available to download and license here for use in your own films and videos and also on all popular music download sites like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc.

More Of My Orchestral Music Used In L.A. Lakers Intro Spots

L.A. Lakers Intro Video 2010 #2 Feat. Music By Simon Wilkinson

Another one of my music tracks has been used in basketball giants the L.A. Lakers’ opening intro video, played before their games at their home stadium, the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This time, my orchestral action track Excelsior was used in the video to the right which was projected onto the huge screens among the crowds before the game.

Excelsior is a dramatic orchestral track which would be ideal for trailers or promos that need music which builds to a climax and can be downloaded or licensed for use in your own projects from my mp3 shop here:

Thanks to Peter Bailey at Sideshow Studios (www.sideshow-studios.com) who wrote, directed and edited all the graphics and video for the promo.

Birth Of A Distant Star

Birth Of A Distant Star by Simon Wilkinson

Birth Of A Distant Star is a longform instrumental ambient space music track that conjures up images of star births, galaxy formations, deep space travel, the big bang and the origins of the universe. As well as being available to license for use in your documentaries, videos and film soundtracks, this long evolving piece of music is the perfect soundtrack to imaginary dark and mysterious sci-fi landscapes and galaxies.

Ambient Space Music: Birth Of A Distant Star by Simon Wilkinson

Full of evocative and harmonically rich textures, floating synth pads and hypnotic organic ambience.

Or if you’re just a fan of atmospheric ambient drones or space music, it also makes an ideal soundtrack for meditation, study, relaxation, yoga or as unobtrusive background music for creative pursuits like writing, programming, painting, online space games etc.

Watch the promotional video on the right for an idea of how the music can enhance your videos and documentaries and license the music for immediate use by selecting from the options above.

New Ambient Album Promo Video ‘Cryosleep Dreams’

Ambient Space Music: Cryosleep Dreams (album sampler) by Simon Wilkinson

I’ve just released a new album of ambient space music called Cryosleep Dreams and you can watch a promo video for it above. The album features 10 tracks (101 minutes) of atmospheric and cinematic music with a sci-fi/space theme.

The music is instrumental and richly textured and varies from dark drones to light, airy and ethereal pieces. It’s the kind of music you can listen to while working, writing, meditating, triggering ASMR or just to help you sleep. All of the tracks are at least 7 minutes long (the longest being just under 20 minutes) which makes it perfect for calming background use or falling asleep to.

This album is aimed more at ‘general’ fans of atmospheric ambient music (as opposed to filmmakers) although the tracks will be available for licensing if you’re interested. I’ve had feedback from people who like the sound of my royalty free music albums but understandably don’t want to pay for licensing when they just want to listen to it for pleasure. So I’ll be writing lots more ‘regular’ albums that will be priced more in line with standard albums for non-industry music fans.

Tracklisting:

1. Alpha State Begins (9:05)
2. Pushing Through Crystal Ice Clouds (14:32)
3. Planetfall (8:00)
4. Gravity Waves (8:38)
5. Descending Node (7:01)
6. Orbital Drift (10:17)
7. Binary Storm (7:05)
8. Panoramic Light (9:55)
9. Cold Methuselah (7:04)
10. The Divine Realm (19:42)

The album is available now from my store (link below) and also on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc. The lovely cover image comes courtesy of artist and photographer Sarah Fenwick at www.sjfbetty.com and I knew it was the perfect image for the album cover as soon as I saw it.

Exuma Film Featuring My Music Available On Blu Ray And DVD

Here’s the trailer for photographer and filmmaker Colin Ruggiero‘s film Exuma which features some of my music and is now available to order on Blu Ray and DVD from the Exuma film website.

“Prepare to hold your breath and dive into a thousand shades of blue  on an exploration of the Exuma Cays – a tiny string of pearls tucked away in the middle of the 3,000 other islands that make up the Bahamas.  Shot entirely in HD, the film uses innovative underwater and time-lapse photography to capture the surreal beauty of the Exumas through the eyes of a young woman who lives there.  Through Susanna’s eyes, we are given a window into a world few people have ever seen.  Welcome to Exuma.”
