Los Olvidados By Manuel León Caballero

Los Olvidados is a low budget slasher movie from Spanish indie filmmaker Manuel León Caballero. This is Manuel’s very first feature film and it was included in the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival 2014. You can now watch the full film on Vimeo above (which features my instrumental piano track Cursed in the credits).

Los Olvidados is a little slasher movie shot with no money, no crew and in just seven days. After its premiere in the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival 2014, here comes its free release on the internet.”

Awakening

Awakening by Simon Wilkinson

Dramatic piano music featuring strings, brass and subtle percussion. Suitable as dramatic trailer music or for use as inspiring background music in human interest documentaries about overcoming adversity.

Especially suited for documentaries and trailers focused on stories of personal journeys, social uprising (e.g. Occupy protests or human rights issues) and financial or corporate battles. The music is serious, atmospheric and cinematic with a powerful feel of epic majesty and inner strength and would also work well in time lapse films and commercials.

Begins with a cyclic piano riff and slowly builds momentum with lots of hit points before starting a dramatic and inspiring climax at 2:48 when epic strings and brass lead the track to an emotional peak. License this orchestral music track for use in your own documentaries, trailers and videos by selecting from the licensing options above.

Synaesthesia

Synaesthesia by Simon Wilkinson

Dark dramatic intense action music with a sense of excitement, danger and visual impact that would work well for TV or film intro music, extreme sports videos, trailers, car commercials and YouTube videos.

A medium tempo instrumental electronic/alternative rock track underpinned with piano arpeggios, atmospheric synth lines and explosive drum hits with hammered dulcimer notes that punctuate the drama.

A bookend to its sister track Scorpio (with a similar feel) Synaesthesia is an explosive instrumental soundtrack full of danger and dark atmosphere, ideal for action trailers.

Algiers

Algiers by Simon Wilkinson

Dramatic medium tempo electronica with sitar, pulsing synths, drum breaks, dramatic violin string stabs, piano riffs and a North African, Middle Eastern or Arabic feel.  Algiers is an explosive action music track with a dusty yet modern and edgy electronic sound. Ideal music for trailers, promo videos, political thrillers, dramas etc.

Imagine a modern action movie set in the North African deserts of Morocco. Exciting atmospheric instrumental action music with a feeling of danger and intrigue (think Black Hawk Down).

Starts off slowly with mysterious sitars and dark atmospheric washes of sound before exploding in with a crescendo of full dramatic drum breaks and deep bass before adding dramatic stabs of strings and piano. Would work well as exciting TV or film intro music, sports footage, trailer music or as part of an edgy ethnic drama or spy thriller soundtrack.

Getting Your Music On iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc.

Distrokid

If you want to get your music on all the major online stores like iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play etc. then you need a distributor. With virtually all distributors you have to pay them a fee (sometimes it’s a yearly fee or sometimes per album release) and they submit your music to a varying number of stores (depending on who they supply to).

I’ve been using Distrokid for several years after having tried a few others and I still think they’re the best out there.  You pay them a yearly fee of $19.99 and you can then put out unlimited albums or single tracks to all the major (and other not-so-major!) services including:

  • iTunes
  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Pandora
  • Google Play
  • Tidal
  • YouTube (including Content ID)
  • Deezer
  • +150 other stores and streaming services

You get to keep 100% of all royalties from your sales. Some of the previous distributors I used would charge you a yearly fee per-album but with Distrokid you can release as much music as you like for one price of $19.99 per year. They’re also very artist-friendly and are run by and for musicians. I’ve never had any problems with them and they’ve always been really responsive so I recommend them completely!

You can use my referral link below which will also give you 7% off your first year:

Into Green

Into Green by Simon Wilkinson

Into Green is a slow, thoughtful and intimate instrumental piano track with very light and subtle music box and percussive elements.

Introspective and melancholy music with a quiet and reflective somber feel that would be ideal as background music for reflective films or pensive human interest documentaries. The piano is miked up very close so you can hear the delicate sound of the felt piano hammers to give a very tender and intimate feel. Delicate piano music with a similar feel to artists such as Erik Satie, Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm.
